SCB Lifesciences Consulting: Crafting a Professional Services Brand That Sells

Brand Strategy + Marketing Collateral

The Challenge

SCB Lifesciences Consulting was ready to launch—but their brand wasn’t.

As a newly formed pharmaceutical consulting firm based in Boston, they came to us with a name, a trademark, and a starter logo. What they needed was the full package: a professional visual identity, business-ready collateral, and a clear, compelling story about who they are, what they do, and why it matters.

Like many experts, SCB had deep industry experience and a track record of success. But between being modest and having no clear framework to talk about their work, it was difficult to communicate their value. Our job was to help them define their brand, sharpen their message, and create a strong, consistent presence across every touchpoint.

How We Solved It

We started with a conversation and quickly realized this project was about more than just a logo update. SCB had an impressive breadth of experience, but no structured or compelling way to express it. We recommended a brand and messaging workshop to surface their value and build a strategic foundation for their brand.

In four fast-paced weeks, we delivered:

  • A virtual half-day brand strategy workshop covering brand personality, promise, and position

  • A brand story and creative concept, including an elevator pitch and tagline

  • A new logo and visual identity system (typography, colour palette, look and feel)

  • Business card design

  • A robust PowerPoint template

  • LinkedIn profile banner

  • Invoice template

  • Custom domain, email service provider setup, and e-signature — acting as their go-to tech support

The big insight from the workshop? SCB’s true value isn’t tied to a specific type of project or client. It’s in the way they guide clients—whether biotech startups or major US pharma companies—through complex, high-stakes processes. From launching a new drug to rolling out a campaign, SCB helps clients navigate from current state to their desired outcome. That realization inspired the brand tagline: “Navigating the how.”

We built a modern, professional brand identity around that concept. The logo blends multiple concepts: a starting point, clear direction, progress, and the destination—a stylized star representing the result SCB helps deliver.

Expanding the Marketing Footprint

Just a few weeks after the project, SCB returned to us for a simple website, including copywriting. One week later, we designed this one-page website.

The Result

SCB launched with a polished brand and a crystal-clear message about what they do. Their identity is cohesive, their positioning is sharp, and they’re ready to grow with confidence.

This is what practical, integrated marketing looks like. We helped SCB clarify their value, build a strategic foundation, and bring their business to life in print and digital marketing—all in five weeks. No fluff. No delays. Just smart strategy, great creative, and a brand that’s ready to work.
